If I wish to reprint material (text, illustrations, cover art) published by Tsehai Publishers do I need to seek permission?
All material published by Tsehai Publishers is protected by the Copyright Act of 1968. If you wish to reprint or reproduce any material from a Tsehai Publishers publication, you must obtain written permission from Tsehai Publishers. If the work from which you are requesting permission is an anthology, consult the credit/acknowledgments page and apply to the original source for permission to use the copyright material. This also applies to photographs and illustrations. (Always double check who first published the original work - it is likely that the first publisher is the copyright controller)

How long does it take to process a permission request?

Generally, it takes between 4 and 6 weeks to process a permission request and you must allow enough time in your editorial schedule to clear permissions.
Is there a fee for permissions?

A permission (or copyright) fee will always be charged to compensate the author and/or illustrator for use of their work.

What should I include in my permission request?

In order to consider your permission request, we require the following information:

  1.  The title, author and ISBN of the publication from which you wish to quote.
  2. The title, author and ISBN of the publication from which you wish to quote.
  3. Exactly what material you wish to use (please provide photocopies highlighting which text and/or illustration is to be used).
  4. Details of how the material is to be used.
  5. The format in which the material will be reproduced (ie. book, magazine, video, audio, broadcast, internet, CD-Rom, other).
  6. Approximate number of words.
  7. The territory required.
  8. The number of reproductions of the copyright material (ie, if a book, the initial print run).
  9. The selling price of your finished product (RRP).
  10. The publication/release date of your finished product.
  11. The name of the imprint and/or publisher.

How do I report a typographical problem in titles that I have purchased?

If a Tsehai Publisher book you have purchased has a typographical error please send (or a copy of the page/s in question) with a letter explaining the problem to it:

How do I report a faulty book or printing problem in a Tsehai Publishers title that I have purchased?
If a Tsehai Publishers book you have purchased is faulty (eg. printing or binding problems etc.) it should, in the first instance, be returned to the original place of purchase for the retailer to assess and offer a replacement book. If it is not possible to return the book to its place of purchase, it can be sent, along with a letter explaining the problem to:
